<p><strong>Fox News Debate: Fast Food Delivery Vs. The Family Meal</strong></p>

Many times, it’s more accessible than a grocery store with fresh produce. Family mealtimes are becoming a thing of the past, due to time-poor duel working parents, and kids involved with a myriad of extracurricular activities.</p>
<p>Many of you may have heard recently that Burger King is now going to be experimenting with a <a href="https://bkdelivers.com/#!welcome">delivery service </a>in the DC metro area. For an extra $2 you can get your meal delivered to your home (just like a pizza). This is not what the D.C. area or our Nation needs. Now we don’t even have to get in our cars to pick it up? Fast food should be LESS accessible in this country, not more. We need to get back to family mealtime, cook with our kids, and care more about the benefits this provides – no matter how busy we are.</p>
<p>Just this week I was asked to be on Fox with <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/your-world-cavuto/index.html">Neil Cavuto</a> to debate the BK delivery news.</p>

<p>As I mentioned in the clip, I am not opposed to ordering delivery as a backup. I don’t even want to take away hamburgers! I just feel that for you and your family’s health and wellness, it’s just as fast to make a home-cooked meal, and the result is higher quality food, enjoyed with the people you love. All you need to do is a little planning and make some time in your schedule. The benefits to your health and well-being outweigh the cost of your time and there is research to prove it.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a rel="author" href="http://memorable-meals.com/blog/author/pylona/">Pylona</a>	</p><p>What kind of New Year’s resolution have you made for 2012?  I am sure at least one of them has to do with losing weight.  You are not alone; many of us start out with grand plans to lose 15 to 20 pounds so we can be ready for the beach.  By week three half of us have already fell off of the bandwagon.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, as many people have found over the years, this strategy does not work.  Research has shown that diets don’t work.  Indeed some people lose weight initially, BUT the weight plus more tends to return shortly after. Instead of focusing on &#8220;I&#8217;m too fat&#8221; or &#8220;I want to be skinny,&#8221; focus on living a healthy lifestyle.  A healthy lifestyle encompasses every aspect of your being: body, mind, and soul.</p>

<h2>Five Focus Areas</h2>
<ol>
<li>A Good Diet:  To replenish your body&#8217;s nutrient stores and gain energy you must eat nutrient-rich foods!  Your body is a machine and can not run off of donuts, chips, and diet soda.  Make sure each meal consist of a lean protein, a vegetable, and a starch.</li>
<li>Enough Sleep:  According to the National Sleep Foundation we should get seven to nine hours of sleep to relieve strain on the body from daily activity.</li>
<li>Adequate Exercise:  Thirty minutes of aerobic activity each day can do wonders for you!  It promotes cardiovascular fitness and muscular flexibility. To strengthen bones and muscles add weight training twice a week.</li>
<li>Mental Exercise:  Yes, your brain needs a workout too!  Find activities that stimulate your mind like reading a book, putting together a challenging puzzle, or Sudoku.</li>
<li>Stress-Relief:  A healthy lifestyle incorporates relaxation techniques that can range from yoga and meditation to an intense game of basket ball.</li>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline; color: #800080;">IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER &#8211; by Erma Bombeck</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;">(written after she found out she was dying of cancer)</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;">I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren&#8217;t there for the day.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;">I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;">I would have talked less and listened more.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;">I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;">I would have eaten the popcorn in the &#8216;good&#8217; living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;">I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;">I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;">I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;">I would have sat on the lawn with my grass stains.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;">I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;">I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn&#8217;t show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;">Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I&#8217;d have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;">When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, &#8216;Later. Now go get washed up for dinner.&#8217; There would have been more &#8216;I love you&#8217;s&#8217; More &#8216;I&#8217;m sorry&#8217;s.&#8217; <em></em></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;">But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute, look at it, and really see it .<strong> </strong>. live it and never give it back.</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #800080;">Don&#8217;t worry about who doesn&#8217;t like you, who has more, or who&#8217;s doing what</span><br />
<span style="color: #800080;"> Instead, let&#8217;s cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;">If you don&#8217;t mind, send this on to all the women you are grateful to have as friends.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;">Maybe we should all grab that purple hat earlier.</span></p>
